geeky
from my cold dead carpal tunnel hands - the $50 used ibook sale went off without a hitch.| local coverage
and now some old news:
and now some old news:
- the king is a pimp - somehow i missed some of the lyrics...like "the breasts they grown on trees." it's also nice to see that they can actually do some scholarly research at that place.
- puns make the man - "You don't run up to a hot tub full of beautiful women and talk about Mark Twain's trip to the Holy Land."nice little interview with richard from beauty and the geek.
typing into the wind
i don't know what happened to all the comments. i think i'll switch to blogger's system but allow anonymous comments. now time to try out this photo thing.
anyone think they can guess (other than like "glass with red liquid") what the image is? i should likely add a copyright notice on future photos.

you read this?
so i installed office:mac today. i'd held off for so long. i've tried openoffice, abiword, neooffice/j, iwork, and more but finally installed it. (59.99 made it much more palatable.) when i installed it, the fonts in safari went all screwy - until i quit/reopened it. for some reason, this made me want to see if blogger made the user interface any better for safari. so i logged in. not really - though there is something about uploading photos that i'll investigate later.
i've been watching this peter jennings: reporter thing. i still find it crazy that a guy who didn't graduate high school was made a national news anchor at my age. of course he was soon fired. growing up i tended to watch brokaw, but every now and then i'd watch abc and think "don't sleep on pete."
does anyone else think alton brown is one of the coolest people on tv?
a friend of mine invited me to her birthday party. i'd be all for it, but it's just that i feel like i'm there whenever she asks - but she acts like it's some intense effort to do anything i suggest. (she's never been to where i live - but i've been to where she lives quite regularly.) that said - i expect to be there. that's what friends do.
remember when eddy murphy was funny?
i'm facing yet another interminable, exhausting emasculation, and i'm not sure if i can take it. it's likely the cause of the angst which has me searching for things to do. i'm kinda twitching. i have half a mind to just split.
right now i think a true partner would be rather good for me - and a poor deal for them.
